As the Senior Optical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, integration, and test of optical and optoelectronic systems. With a multi-disciplinary approach you’ll be focused on using the latest analytical techniques to apply machine learning theory into practice through experimentation and invention.

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Optics, Holography, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Image Processing, or a related scientific field
  • 5+ years hands-on and practical optical and opto-mechanical design and/or EO/IR sensor development 
  • Exposure and working knowledge of Zemax
  • Experience with design CAD tools (Solidworks and CREO/ProE) and simulation tools (Matlab and Comsol)
  • Understanding of system tradeoffs and EO/IR component selections (resolution, field of view, size, weight, power, cost, manufacturability)
  • Ability and background in developing new concepts, carrying out design and development, realizing prototypes toward viable products, performing tests and evaluations, and documenting (reports and technical proposals) 
  • Position requires U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder
