Two Positions Open

This position requires an adjudicated background investigation (SSBI) in addition to an active Full SECRET security clearance at date of hire.

Provide analytical and technical on-site support for the operations of Windows/Linux-based servers. Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan and coordinate installation, testing, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems for all corporate windows-based servers.
  • Plan and schedule the installation of new and modified hardware/software, allocating system resources, managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  • Provide resource utilization and capacity planning support, which includes, but is not limited to: base-lining utilization of server resources (CPU, memory, storage space, backup capacity).
  • Monitoring of the server resources to identify utilization/consumption trends, and projecting when resource utilization/consumption will be such that delivery of services by the servers falls below acceptable performance levels in accordance with Government instruction.
  • Perform server backups to provide for system restoration, file and database recovery, and disaster recovery. Certify that backups are completed successfully.
  • Recover, reload, and restore files, server volumes, and databases as required to provide immediate user access to required data.
  • Implement security procedures and tools.
  • Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Provide Internet Information Services Web administration support, administration of SharePoint infrastructure creation of SharePoint sites.
  • Maintain systems configuration; and manage the installation and integration of system patches, updates, and enhancements. These systems may include, but are not limited to: Internet Information Services; Servers using Microsoft Server Operating Systems; System Management; Software Update Services; Load-Balancing/Clustering Services; SharePoint Services; Server Certificate Services.
  • Maintain corporate server OS baselines meeting all current DoD STIGs and IAVA requirements.
  • Respond to trouble-tickets within 60 mintues of receipt to acknowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualification and Skills:
Three to six (3-6) years of professional experience working with Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, WSUS, Group Policies and Login Scripts for network based management tasks. Basic understand of network security strategies and experience with network troubleshooting. Experience with server virtualization technologies. Comprehensive experience in server hardware specification. Strong understanding of network backup strategies and technologies. Must have solid technical documentation skills for documenting IT related procedures/projects. Excellent interpersonal skills for developing working relationships with departmental staff and the ability to work with other IT staff in a teamwork environment.
One (1) year experience using the following IT technologies:
  • Storage Area Network (SAN)
  • Server/desktop virtualization
  • SSL services
  • Microsoft SQL
Desired Skill Requirements:
Experience with any of the following products /technologies: VMware, SAN, SSL, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Orion, Retina, SCAP, McAfee E-policy Orchestrator and Hercules.

Must hold a minimum of the following IT certifications:
  • Current CompTIA Security + and/or International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium((ISC)2) Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
  • Current Microsoft Server and/or VMware VCP Certification (may obtain within 1 month)
