The System Safety Engineer is responsible for being the safety subject matter expert for various military and avionics systems, and innovative technological solutions. Some key roles the Systems Safety Engineer will play include: reviewing the engineering team’s output with a critical eye toward safety impacts, be a point of contact for customer Safety Engineer’s communications, and provide support to the Lead Systems Engineer with requirements management and verification.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or another engineering related field - Master’s Degree, preferred. 
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant Safety/Reliability Engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of ITEM software
  • Expertise with DO-178 and DO-254
  • Experience with FAA program certification and/or government certifiability 
  • Exposure to ARP4761 Safety Assessments for hardware and/or software 
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
